やむ【病む】

〔病気になる〕 fall [become, get] ill; be taken ill; 〔(病名)を病む〕 suffer from…; be ill [afflicted, troubled] with…; 〔(身体部位)を病む〕 have something wrong [a problem] with 《one's heart》; have 《heart》 trouble.

●肺[腎臓]を病む have something wrong with one's lungs [kidney(s)]; have lung [kidney] trouble

・精神を病む have emotional [psychological] problems; have a mental illness

・旅に病む fall ill while traveling [on a journey]

・病んだ社会 a troubled society

・神経痛を病んでいる suffer from neuralgia

・病める身を横たえる be ill [sick] in bed

・病めるときも健やかなときも (either) in sickness or in health.
